Are there 24-hour liquor stores in Texas?

Why the 2 a.m. ceiling exists
Chapter 105 sets a closing hour for every permit type, and none of them reaches past 2:00 a.m. On-premise service runs to midnight under § 105.03 and § 105.05, extended to 2:00 a.m. only where the premises holds a Late Hours certificate and the local jurisdiction allows it. Package stores stop three hours earlier still, at 9:00 p.m., under § 105.01.
Selling outside those windows is a Class A misdemeanor under § 105.10 and puts the permit itself at risk — which is why stores close on the minute.
If it is late and you need something
- Before midnight — beer and wine at any grocery or convenience store, including gas stations.
- Before 1:00 a.m. on a Saturday night — the same, with the extra hour that spills into Sunday.
- Before 2:00 a.m. — a drink at a bar with a Late Hours certificate, in a city or county that permits extended hours.
- After 2:00 a.m. — nothing, anywhere in Texas, legally.
