Are liquor stores open on Easter in Texas?
A question with a misleading premise: Easter changes nothing in Texas alcohol law. Sunday does.

The three closure days, and Easter is not one
§ 105.01 names exactly three holidays on which Texas package stores must close: New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. Easter is not in the statute, and neither is Good Friday. Any guide telling you Texas has special Easter alcohol rules is inventing them.
What Easter Sunday actually looks like
- Before 10:00 a.m. — nothing on sale, other than the Saturday-night window running to 1:00 a.m.
- From 10:00 a.m. — beer and wine to take home at grocery and convenience stores; bars and restaurants serving with food.
- From noon — the food requirement lifts; normal service until midnight.
- All day — package stores closed, so no sealed spirits and no fortified wine above 17% ABV.
Good Friday and Holy Saturday
Both are entirely ordinary trading days. Package stores keep their usual 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. hours on each, which is when to buy spirits for an Easter gathering.
