Are liquor stores open today in Texas?

Computed for right now, in Texas local time — not a rule you have to apply yourself.

The rule behind the answer

Texas package stores — the shops selling sealed spirits — operate on the tightest schedule in the state under § 105.01: 55 hours a week, and never on a Sunday.

The four days they are closed

Beyond every Sunday, package stores close entirely on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. No other holiday closes them — not Easter, not Independence Day, not Memorial Day.

If they are closed, what is open

  • Beer and wine at grocery and convenience stores — 7:00 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday, and from 10:00 a.m. on Sunday.
  • Bars and restaurants serve beer, wine, and mixed drinks, including on all three holidays that close package stores.
  • Wine above 17% ABV is the exception — it is not sold on Sunday at all, and stops at 10:00 p.m. on other days.

One practical allowance: A customer who entered the store before 9:00 p.m. may remain a reasonable amount of time to finish shopping and make their purchase. The cutoff governs when you may enter and be served, not the instant you must be out of the door.
